I’m back from the Police station in Puteaux where I made a formal complaint for “interference with freedom of movement and abuse in power”. What just happened is incredible in a democracy.
As I walking on the Bd Richard Wallace, I saw on the other side of the street the former mayor of Puteaux Charles Ceccaldi gesticulating in my direction. At first I didn’t quite get it. I soon realised he was actually threatening me. The two guys with him suddenly charged me and caught me. As I tried to escape, the bulkier one (1.80 meters high and more than a hundred kilos), wearing the local police uniform, jammed me against a tree. A few minutes later, a car from the same police arrived. The four policemen got out of the car to surround me. One of the policemen tells me I have to “submit to a police check” and that I’m “arrested”.
I ask what offence I’ve committed: no answer from them. I ask for their Id: no answer. As I was trying to get some help from people passing by and asking for someone to call the National Police, the same policeman declared: “you’re creating public disorder”. These policemen couldn’t give me a valid reason for arresting me.
The National Police at last arrived… and the local policemen stepped back. I’m safe! I directly go to the Police station (National Police) to make a formal complaint.
I have to say it’s been scary.
This new episode shows nothing has changed in Puteaux: Charles Ceccaldi treats the local police as “his” police… and the opposition as enemies… to harass.
